Gold, Gems, Souls, and Glory are the four basic resources of the game, and as such are all available from a myriad of sources.
Gold is the easiest resource to get: it's virtually everywhere. The best place to get lots of it is by vsing the hardest opponents in Ranked PVP. Gold intake can be increased by Armor, Difficulty Level, VIP Level, and the use of certain troops in battle.
Gems are the hardest resource to acquire: the easiest way is to buy additional Gems with money. Gems can also be earned from kingdom tributes (any multiple tribute) and from the Treasure Hunt mini-game.
Souls are found in almost as many places as Gold is, but usually in much lower quantities. The best place to get lots of Souls is via each kingdom's set of Challenges. However, killing enemy troops automatically grants Souls, so any battle will be contributing. Soul intake, like that of Gold, can be increased by Armor, Difficulty Level, VIP Level and the use of certain troops in battle.
Glory is a special resource, typically only acquired through playing Ranked PVP. Glory can also be earned from kingdom tributes (depending on the kingdom) and from the Treasure Hunt mini-game.
Other notable resources include:
Treasure Maps: these are required in order to play the Treasure Hunt mini-game - one Map is consumed per session. Treasure Maps can be acquired through the following methods:
- By getting 7 or more Gem cascades on a single turn.
- From the Glory Rewards tab in the Store (standalone Maps or the Spoils of War bundles).
- From Guild Tasks.
- From certain troops (Tyri, Marid, Lil' Johnny Bronze, and the Merchant's Blade hero weapon).
Traitstones: these are required to unlock each individual troop's traits. Traitstones are awarded after every battle, can be found in all kinds of chests, and more are gained via playing Treasure Hunt.
However, finding specific colors and/or types of traitstones isn't as simple as that. Battles are fought in kingdoms - and each kingdom has its own set of traitstones that are available to be found (see this linked article). There are also traitstones in special bundles and packs in the Shop which rotate at regular intervals, available for both money and Glory.
