Shiny Troops & Lore

Upgrade selected Troops to Shiny to unlock new Lore and battle bonuses!

Selected Troops within Gems of War have a Shiny version available to unlock! To upgrade these troops to Shiny, you will need to collect their matching Shiny Token from Shiny Chests.

Shiny Keys can be earned from selected Event rewards or purchases in flash offers. 

By either spending Shiny keys or converting Shiny Dust into a Shiny, you will be rewarded 1-3 random Shiny Tokens! 

Troops that already have gained a Shiny level will have a Shiny icon next to their name. Example below. 

Shiny Tokens earned are automatically used on their matching Troop to upgrade them through the 3 Shiny levels. 

Note: Shiny Tokens earned in a chest may be a duplicate, whereas Tokens earned from Shiny Dust will not be if possible

The example below is the troop 'Dryad' at Shiny levels 1 to 3. You can see in the bottom right of the card their Shiny level icon. Also, with each level their shiny flair increases!

You can find Shiny troop lore by selecting them in the Troop menu > More Upgrades and then selecting under their Kingdom banner the Shiny level text.

This will display how many Tokens you are away from the next level, or if you have reached level 3 then it will display 'Shiny Level 3'.

From here you can read the Lore for that Troop you have unlocked as well as the bonus for unlocking each level. 

Note: If you have upgraded all available Shiny troops to level 3, you will only receive Lore Dust from Chests until new Shiny Troops are released.
